3. Data Collection on This Website

Hosting (Hetzner Cloud)

This website is hosted on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen). Hetzner processes personal data on our behalf as a processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. IP addresses, access times and data volumes transmitted may be processed. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating the website). Retention period: log data is deleted after 7 days.

SSL/TLS Encryption

This website uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the browser's address bar changing from 'http://' to 'https://'.

Server Log Files

The hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser automatically transmits. These are: browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL, hostname of the accessing computer, time of the server request, and IP address. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Retention period: 7 days.

Contact Form

If you contact us via the contact form, your details including the contact information provided will be stored for the purpose of processing your request. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent. Transmission is handled via the SMTP service of Strato AG (Pascalstraße 10, 10587 Berlin), through which our domain is registered. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (processing your request as legitimate interest). Retention period: until final processing of your request, but at least for the legally prescribed retention periods (up to 6 years pursuant to § 257 HGB).

4. Cookies

This website uses cookies. These are small text files stored on your device. The only technically necessary cookie is 'cookie_consent' (lifetime 6 months), which stores your decision made in this banner; it is set without your consent because it is what records that decision in the first place. Optional analytics cookies (Matomo) are set exclusively after your express consent.

You can adjust or revoke your cookie settings at any time:

5. Web analytics with Matomo (self-hosted)

This website uses Matomo, an open source tool for the statistical analysis of visitor traffic. We run Matomo ourselves at matomo.codeministry.io on our own infrastructure (server location Germany, Hetzner Online GmbH). The analytics data never leaves our own infrastructure and is not passed on to third parties. No transfer to third countries takes place.

Purpose: Statistical analysis of website usage in order to improve content and technical implementation.

Data processed: truncated (anonymized) IP address, pages visited, date and time of access, referrer URL, browser type and version, operating system, screen resolution, approximate location at city level, external links clicked and files downloaded.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG (your consent via the cookie banner). Matomo is only loaded after your active consent; without consent no analysis takes place and no script is loaded.

Cookies: After your consent, Matomo sets the cookies '_pk_id' to recognize returning visitors (lifetime 13 months) and '_pk_ses' to identify the current session (lifetime 30 minutes).

Retention period: Raw data of individual visits is deleted automatically after 12 months. Beyond that, only aggregated, non-personal reports are retained.

Withdrawal: You can withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings on this website; the Matomo cookies that were set are deleted in the process. In addition, Matomo respects your browser's Do Not Track setting.
